Recently I was thinking about the weird things around here that I've gotten used to and I wanted to share because I never would have been used to them in California.
-The sound of cooing pigeons that can come round the clock, and the young pigeons that are starting to haunt my fire escape until I bat them away
-The fact that any street you walk down could have AC units dripping water on you and make you wonder if it's raining or you just have AC water dripping on your freshly washed hair, or worse, you walked under a bird
-Not batting an eye climbing staircase after staircase for the subways, for buildings, for apartments. Although I am mildly bitter that I live on the 4th floor and have climbed up and down these stairs everyday for a year now and still don't have a celebrity-status rump
-But still haven't gotten used to the overcast weather in summer yet though :(
